How many criminals have access to this and will carry around with them to steal? They want quick fast and out. These are for basic home use, keep the kids out of the safe. Should be bolted down to the ground also.

      • Bored Lock picker
Bored Lock picker   2 months back

I think any one with an ebay account has access to this. I think right around 0 probably carry one around. they're really awkward to transport. they latch on to every metal surface with in a foot or so of them. and they're fragile and break easily if it slams into something to hard.

      • Bored Lock picker
Bored Lock picker   3 months back

To protect things from fires. Yes. For security not really. These aren’t real safes. You can really only get a decent safe from a locksmith shop.

Crazy pop Anime land I got it on eBay it was $200 or $220 something like. I’m a locksmith so it’s made it’s money back and saves me having to drill these sentry safes. The fire protection inside them is really messy when you drill

            • Crazy pop Anime land
Crazy pop Anime land  5 months back

Bored Lock picker, thanks. Also where did you get the magnet? I’ve tried amazon but they don’t have any that size. I found Mr. locksmith has one but it’s not $50 like they said. It’s about $300. If you don’t mind me asking

            • Bored Lock picker
Bored Lock picker   5 months back

carl moore sounds like the keypad is bad. I’m not familiar with Winchester safes but on other brands though the code is saved inside the safe on something the keypad plugs into. If you know the code they may be able to get a new keypad and hook it and open it. If that doesn’t work a locksmith can drill it.

            • Bored Lock picker
Bored Lock picker   5 months back

Crazy pop Anime land it probably work then. Sounds you like you have a real safe. These sentry ones are just boxes to protect things from a fire. They aren’t real safes.

I'm not sure the lock even works. It has fresh battery, but doesn't beep or anything. Was my dads safe and I know it has some of his old firearms in it. Was hoping a method like this would work to open it.

Not trying to be a dick but your video skills suck. It would have been better if you had the solenoid on the center of the screen instead of on the edge where half the time we couldn't see anything. Then the front view was all crown royal bag

This hack (and the "bouncing" one) no longer works on the newest models ...(since Master Lock bought the company) they are equipped with a spring follower and magnetic interlock, adjacent to the solinoid, specifically so they will not open with this method.

The new design will have an NONmagnetic pin!

                  • S W
                    S W  4 weeks back

If the pin was non-magnetic then the solenoid coil wouldn't move it. The solenoid needs to be shielded so that external magnetic fields don't interfere with it.

All they have to do is make the actuator move the other way, in towards the opening of the safe to clear the handle mechanisms, that would cure that problem. Damn engineers! Also glad to see plastic parts in a safe, a big sledge hammer would get that open too, but as they say locks are only designed to keep honest people out!
