Hahahahaha glued on particle board! That is fantastic! I switched out a cheap safe I had and I chose a fort knox pistol box, hardened screws and huge washers with locking nuts and loctite. This would have been so much cheaper! :D

Awesome Channel - Thank You ! I became a subscriber after the first video I watched. Another possibly more robust variation would be to drill some bigger holes in the floor of your safe, use a template of those hole's location to drill the wood board accordingly, and then put some bolts with washers up trough the board - then glue it down (looks like your trunk floor has some recessed areas so you don't need to countersink the bolt head/washer combo and compromise some of the strength of your board) - then you can drop the safe onto the exposed bolt shafts, and secure it from the inside with some locking nuts and large, flat washers..........done. Remind people not to store a big pry bar or something similar in their trunk however ; ) .

      • Sweet Project Cars
Sweet Project Cars   1 years back

ashman0071 thank you so much for sharing, we have many methods to mounting the safes we install and that all depends on who much money the customer wants to spend...we have had some that want the safe bolted with 1/2" steel plate and 3/4" grade 8 bolts right to the frame of the vehicle, but that, of course, costs much much more. Some just want a place to store items and deter the thief enough to slow them down or make them think it is not worth the time or effort when they see the safe.....thank you very much for being an awesome Subscriber have an awesome day :)

            • Sweet Project Cars
Sweet Project Cars   2 years back

I try to keep the videos short or my subs come unglued on me lol..... so I leave a bit to the imagination, but where you saw me drill them is where they were installed...its all it took to hold the safe securly down, we tried to pull it out to no avail. when you mount it put it in a place where it is hard to get leverage on it this is another deterrent to removing it quickly and thats what a thief wants..to get in and out as fast as possible...:)

            • mreediowa
              mreediowa  2 years back

Most break ins are opportunistic, that is if they see your shit just laying out in the car, they'll break in to grab it. How are they going to see a safe in a boot? Sure they could be watching, but that then goes to the next level of a car break in, the average dummy won't want to try to get to that, and if they do, they'll be going to the trouble to just taking your whole car.

The best time I see this for is when you need to leave something in the car, yet have to give your car to someone like a valet or mechanic. It protects both parties from accusations of theft. Your accusation that they stole shit, and their counter accusation that the shit wasn't even your car to begin with.
